Short-stay visas

This visa is granted to foreign citizens who, for urgent reasons including business meetings, conferences, funerals, technicians required for machinery repair in the oil sector, or sailors wishing to join a ship sailing in Angolan waters

The short-stay visa must be used within 72 hours, allows the foreign citizen to stay in the national territory for up to seven days, and is renewable for the same period. The short-stay visa does not allow its holder to establish residence in the national territory, nor to engage in any paid activity.

Nos termos da legislação em vigor, os cidadãos estrangeiros, e até mesmo angolanos que detenham um passaporte estrangeiro, estão sujeitos ao pagamento de um multa de USD200,00 por cada dia que ultrapasse o tempo de permanência concedido. A infracção deve ser regularizada no posto do SME em Angola e antes da saída de território Angolano.

Applicants are advised that possessing an airline ticket does not guarantee visa approval.

Required Documents

1- 1- The form and registration form must be duly completed, printed or typed in black ink and signed by the applicant, without erasures or corrections. Photographs must be pasted in., com letra de imprensa ou dactilografados com tinta preta e assinado pelo requerente, sem rasuras ou emendas. As fotografias devem ser coladas;

2- Original and photocopy of the International Certificate of Vaccination

3- Passport valid for more than 9 months and with 2 blank pages for visa application.

4- Two (3) current, original, color passport-size photographs, with a white background and without sunglasses (except for proven medical reasons). The photographs must be glued to the form.

5- Proof of accommodation (hotel reservation confirmation or other type of accommodation)

6- Proof of Means of Subsistence, equivalent to USD 200.00 for each day of stay in Angolan territory (this amount must be proven through a bank statement, authenticated with the official seal or oil stamp of the respective banking institution).

7- A duly substantiated document outlining the intended objectives for entering the National Territory. If the document is signed by a third party, include the signatory's identification document (Angolan ID card, copy of a valid visa, or resident card).

 Photocopies of the main pages of the passport and of the pages containing information relating to migratory movements.

8- Photocopy of the printout of the flight reservation to the Republic of Angola, with return.

Regarding minors

Travel authorization from the guardians, with notarized signatures.

Guardian's liability waiver(s) endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of origin, with notarized signatures (this waiver is not required if traveling with parents).

Original and photocopy of the accompanying person(s)'s ticket(s).

Original and photocopy of the accompanying person(s)' passport(s).


 NOTE: Maximum of 3 working days: 670.00 LE (Six Hundred and Seventy Pounds, payable upon submission of the application). (Maximum processing time of 48 hours). The visa must be used within 3 days of issuance and is valid for a 7-day stay in Angola, renewable once for the same period. Proof of sufficient means of subsistence must be provided at the Border Post.  Este visto é concedido por razões de urgência (ex: reunião, conferência, óbito…)
